Wild Things Lose, 2-1, at Trash Panda Field
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Toronto Trash Pandas and the Cleveland Wild Things, Evan Mintzer was the difference-maker. The Toronto left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Mintzer, now 4-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Tony Gonzales, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.
Paul McComas made an early impact for Toronto when he stroked his 26th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came with no one out in the bottom of the first, put the Trash Pandas on top, 2-0.
"Enjoyed this one," McComas told the Toronto Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The losing streak for Cleveland has now reached 4 games.
