The Chicago Gangsters stymied the San Francisco Fire, 6-2, at The Hideout. Jason Bear had a good day at the plate. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Chicago. Sam Palacios got the win, improving to 5-5. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. The second-place Gangsters improved to 41-72.

Eric Drake had a big 2-run home run for the Gangsters in the bottom of the first inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Miguel Berrios, who finished 4th in the AC in ERA with 3.07 in 2019, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Gangsters on top, 4-0.

Drake told the Chicago News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
