Pines Come Up Short at Phoenix, 3-2
|
The Phoenix Gladiators picked up a win at Gladiators Ballpark, courtesy of Derrick Espinosa. The right-hander helped his team stop the Maine Pines, 3-2. Manny Brant finished to wrap up his 16th save. The Gladiators now own a record of 26-14.
Phoenix went up, 2-1, on Eric Milbrandt's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Milbrandt hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Maine pitcher Dan Miller shaking his head.
Espinosa said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
