Austin Gets Another L, 9-5
The 9-5 Sandusky win over Austin was due largely to Jimmy Vert. The Seagulls right fielder went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Mark Burkhart picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-14. Austin is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.

Vert contributed in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Sandusky get the win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Vert said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
