Nightmare Stumble, Lose to Mounties
|
The Vancouver Mounties beat the New York Nightmare, 9-0, at Mounties Field. The win was due in part to first baseman Chris Dellinger, who went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Greg Sandlin, the winner, improved to 11-9. He held the Nightmare to no runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Picking up the save was David Pruner, his 1st.
Sean Williamson had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the third for Vancouver. With the bases loaded and the Mounties leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Dellinger.
At 48-63, the Mounties are currently last in the National Conference West Division.
