Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Toronto Trash Pandas and Detroit Giants.

In a tight contest between the Toronto Trash Pandas and the Detroit Giants, Frank Sarabia was the determining factor. The Toronto right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. The Trash Pandas improved their record to 50-61 with the win over Detroit.

The Giants had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Trash Pandas going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Paul McComas came to the plate. McComas hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Detroit hurler Dave Shevlin. It was McComas's 18th double of the year.

"Tough loss," said Detroit manager Sean O'Leary. "But we'll learn from it."
