Fountain Hills wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Mauricio Martinez, falling to the Cincinnati Royals, 1-0. Martinez threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The victory gives Cincinnati a record of 66-45.

Cincinnati center fielder Andrew Baltzley contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 70th hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 1-0.

Baltzley told a Cincinnati Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
