Serna Leads Desperados to Win
Austin designated hitter Leo Serna helped his team beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 8-3. Serna, who finished 2nd in the AC in home runs with 37 in 2016, went 4 for 5 for the Desperados. Ethan Yarbrough picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Brian Hennick, who is tied for 7th in the NC in holds with 7, was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Desperados to 61-50.

Had Jared Priest not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Priest hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Desperados.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Serna told the Austin Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
