Eagles Trip Nightmare, 4-3, in Extra Innings
|
Eagles Stadium was host to some action-packed drama.
The Indianapolis Eagles clipped the New York Nightmare, 4-3, in 14 innings at Eagles Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Indianapolis pitcher and Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, native Mike Canales. The win went to Vinny Ceja in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Chris Wyzard took the loss.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the 14th. With Indianapolis trailing 3-2, Jim Anderson delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Chris Wyzard for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said New York manager Joey Bishop, "let me know."
With the victory, the Eagles record stands at 62-49.
