The Philadelphia Marauders withstood a fine game by Cincinnati catcher Matt Peters at The Castle, to upend the Royals, 5-3. Peters went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Vince Mellon, who leads the AC in saves with 27, earned the save for Philadelphia. The defeat makes Cincinnati 64-47.

Philadelphia used a clutch at-bat from Jason Ramsey to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Marauders ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Ramsey said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
