The Phoenix Gladiators downed the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 7-3. The hitting star was center fielder Pat Bounds. Bounds hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Gladiators. Phoenix is third in the American Conference South Division with a record of 53-57.

With Phoenix trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Bounds hit a sinker from Alan Champagne for a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Gladiators ahead, 5-3.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Bounds told the Phoenix Daily.
