Tampa Bay Defeated By Stars, 4-3
|
Tampa Bay got a decent performance from pitcher Ray Rorie, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hollywood Stars. Hollywood won the Ahoy Park contest, 4-3. Rorie threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Jose Ceballos, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-11. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Andy Waring, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, earned the save for Hollywood.
In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Tampa Bay allowed the Stars to go up, 4-3, on a Tampa Bay error.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Daniel told the Hollywood Gazette.
Hollywood has a record of 47-63, placing them last in the National Conference West Division.
