Maroons Drop Mounties, 3-1, with Late Score
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Mounties Field.
Montreal turned a good effort from starter Andres Moran into a win over the Vancouver Mounties at Mounties Field. The final score was 3-1. At 20-20, the Maroons find themselves in second place in the American Conference North East Division.
Montreal used a timely hit from 22-year old left fielder Chris Quinton to get the win. The left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Maroons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
"We took home the win," said Moran. "What's not to like?"
