Nightmare Pop Marauders, 9-4
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the New York Nightmare and Philadelphia Marauders.
The New York Nightmare topped the Philadelphia Marauders, 9-4, in American Conference action at Nightmare Stadium. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Hampton, Virginia, native Joe Schroeder. Schroeder picked up the win for New York, going 8 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-8.
Robby Penland had a big 2-run double for the Nightmare in the bottom of the first inning. With New York leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Marshall Jimenez and swatted a double to right. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nightmare ahead, 4-0.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Penland.
The second-place Nightmare are now 55-54, the Marauders 73-36.
