Stars Take Down Nightmare, 5-4
|
The Hollywood Stars had to overcome a big game from New York left fielder Rob Black to leave Nightmare Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Black was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Pat Eisen was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. Hollywood is 21-18 and New York, with the loss, 16-23.
Hollywood used a clutch hit from Steve Taylor to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Taylor, "one at-bat at a time."
