Eagles Lose to Heathens, 3-0
|
The Halifax Heathens converted a terrific effort from starter Jack Ivory into a win over the Indianapolis Eagles at Estadio Azteca. The Heathens won the game by a final score of 3-0. In 7 innings, Ivory surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Jeff Buck, who finished 4th in the NC in saves with 24 in 2017, earned the save for Halifax.
The outcome hung in the balance with no one down in the top of the eighth. With the bases empty and Indianapolis trailing 1-0, T.J. Walker grounded out. It was a big out for Halifax pitcher Jose Ojeda.
The Eagles, now 18-21, have lost 5 in a row.
