Invaders Sunk by Whistlers
|
The Boston Whistlers took Oakland pitcher Jaiden Harvey's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Whislters Park. The final score had Boston getting past the Invaders, 6-5. Harvey went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Boston pitcher Josh Becker got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Rich Hepler got the loss. Blake Bryant collected save number 13.
Boston took a 6-4 lead on Tim Lotz's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Lotz hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Oakland pitcher Rich Hepler visibly frustrated.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Boston manager Mike Plocher.
Boston raised its record to 26-12 with the win.
