Fire Need Extra Innings to Top Brawlers, 9-6
The San Francisco Fire defeated the Cleveland Brawlers, 9-6, at The Backyard. Leading the charge for San Francisco was designated hitter Richard Banales. He went 3-6 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Keith Hawes earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-1. The victory puts San Francisco at 15-23.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Banales delivered big-time for San Francisco, stroking a dramatic 2-run triple off Josh McQuaid. The game-changing hit put the Fire on top, 8-6.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Banales said.
