Giants Pin 6-2 Loss on San Francisco
|
The Detroit Giants topped the San Francisco Fire, 6-2, at Ballpark of Detroit. Detroit first baseman Angelo Mejia was a spark plug for the offense. He went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Justin Thompson, the winning pitcher, is now 6-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 10 and walking 1. The Giants improved their record to 20-18 with the win over San Francisco.
Early in the game, Mejia had a 3-run home run for Detroit. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Giants on top, 3-0.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Mejia told the Detroit Gazette.
