Behind a fine performance from Heath Sherlock, the Cincinnati Royals knocked off the Dallas Dragons, 17-0. Sherlock was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Royals. Casey Abbott picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-4. He struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. With the win, Cincinnati pushed its record to 22-16.

Mike Pelter had a big 2-run double for the Royals in the bottom of the first inning. With Cincinnati leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 36-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Mathis and swatted a double to center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 4-0.

"I thought we'd at least be more competitive," said losing manager Edgar Puente.
