The Detroit Giants and Oakland Invaders played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Detroit Giants got a stellar effort from pitcher Mike Wroten, helping Detroit score a win over the visiting Oakland Invaders, 2-1. The save went to Lee Maher, his 11th this season.

Detroit first baseman Ruben Cabriales helped the Giants go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Cabriales hit a run-scoring single off Oakland pitcher Cody Fields.

"All my pitches were working," said Wroten. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."

The Giants now have a record of 23-14.
