The Austin Desperados picked up a win at Dell Diamond, downing the Syracuse Scorpions, 3-2. On the mound for Austin was right-hander J.R. Mitchell, who played a pivotal role in the win. The first-place Desperados have won 4 straight games.
Emilio Abreu played the role of hero for Austin. In the bottom of the 12th, he launched a 2-run home run off Jared Hall to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was the decisive blow.
