Gladiators Score Late to Beat Fire, 2-1
|
The Phoenix Gladiators rode a solid performance from 36-year-old starting pitcher Oscar Malave to a win, beating the San Francisco Fire, 2-1, at San Francisco Grounds. Malave yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. At 3-1, the Gladiators have played well so far.
