3-2 Maroons Win over Shiners Evens Season Record
|
Starting pitcher Mario Salazar gave the Montreal Maroons a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Charleston Shiners, 3-2, at Expo 67 Stadium. At 18-18, Montreal is in second place in the American Conference North East Division.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Maroons had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when right fielder Jimmy Gray hit a 2-run single. The single came off Andy Weatherholt and made the score 2-0, Maroons. Gray went 1-3. He drove in 2 runs.
Montreal manager Jason Weber said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
