Austin pitcher Matt Parsons did his part in helping his team defeat the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Parsons yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. The slumping Scorpions have dropped 6 in a row.

John Austin had a big 2-run double for the Desperados in the bottom of the second inning. With Austin leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from fan favorite John Froerer and swatted a double to left. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Desperados ahead, 4-0.

"We took home the win," said Austin. "What's not to like?"
