San Diego beat Maine at Hannaford Dome, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to third baseman Paul Pittman. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Nate Holyfield picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Nick Calvache took the loss. Justin Pierce wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.

Pittman had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-2 fastball from Nick Calvache, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Fleet a 6-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Pittman.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said San Diego manager Chris Evans.
