|
San Diego Fleet starter Corey Gruver turned in an exceptional performance against the Maine Pines at Hannaford Dome, resulting in a San Diego win, 6-2. Rich Forbes closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. With the win, San Diego goes to 21-15, while the Pines fall to 22-14.
Josh Law, who finished 3rd in the NC in runs with 106 in 2017, took Maine hurler Ryan Flamino deep in the top of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Fleet on top, 2-0. In all, Law had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Gruver said.
