Nightmare Lose to Sea Turtles, 6-4
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Jon Dearman, the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles defeated the New York Nightmare, 6-4. Dearman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Sea Turtles. The winning pitcher was Jon Haynes. He's now 4-2. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Sea Turtles. The win for the Sea Turtles lifted their record to 21-15.
Daytona Beach won the game in part because of Nick Rastall. The catcher ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sea Turtles ahead, 5-3. For the game, Rastall had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Dearman.
