Sea Turtles, Couillard Pin Bad Loss on Giants
Philip Couillard helped his team muscle past the Detroit Giants, 10-1. In the game, the Daytona Beach third baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Alan Champagne, the winner, improved to 2-3. He held the Giants to 1 run on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1. With the win over Detroit, the Sea Turtles improved to 13-22.

Russ Reinertsen, who finished 5th in the NC in runs with 104 last year, chipped in a 3-run home run for Daytona Beach in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Reinertsen told the Daytona Beach Chronicle.
