The Austin Desperados defeated the Syracuse Scorpions, 9-2. Right Fielder Leo Serna deserved a large share of the credit. Serna was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Desperados. Luke Scrimger, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Joe McLaughlin nailed down his 2nd save.

John Austin hit a 2-run double off Everett Treadwell in the bottom of the third, which put the Desperados in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Austin had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Austin after the game.

At 18-17, the Desperados find themselves in second place in the American Conference South Division.
