Austin Desperados starter Felipe Moreno found his groove in his team's 5-3 win over the Carolina Reapers. Byron Stanton earned the save for Austin, his 2nd of the year. The win has Austin at 13-21.

The Reapers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Desperados going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite John Austin came to the plate. Austin hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Carolina hurler Jaylin Moyer. It was Austin's 4th home run of the year.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Austin told the Austin Citizen.
