5 Straight Wins for Desperados
|
The Austin Desperados cut down the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles by the score of 4-1, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Brent Hansen. Hansen threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the Desperados. Roberto Salazar picked up his 13th save of the season. Austin has an impressive 23-11 record.
Austin used the timely hitting of Eric Barlow to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Desperados on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Barlow called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
