Giants Get One-Run Win at Indianapolis
The Detroit Giants picked up a win at Eagles Stadium, taking down the Indianapolis Eagles, 6-5. Starting pitcher Mike Wroten was a big reason why. Wroten, now 2-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 5 runs. Devin Wickliffe finished to wrap up his 6th save.

The Eagles had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Giants going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old second baseman Ben Barbone came to the plate. Barbone hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch curveball from Indianapolis hurler Billy Westcott. It was Barbone's 8th double of the year.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Wroten said after the game.

The win elevated the Giants to 17-16.
