Toronto Loses, 8-5, in 13
|
The Philadelphia Marauders defeated the Toronto Trash Pandas, 8-5, in 13 innings in American Conference action at Trash Panda Field. Philadelphia pitcher Sergio Penichet had a standout performance. The win went to David Bernal in relief, making him now 2-0. Tom Mott took the loss for Toronto. The win elevated the Marauders to 21-12.
In the top of the 13th, 24-year old first baseman Chris Goldsmith delivered for Philadelphia. That's when he belted a solo home run, putting the Marauders up, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Penichet.
