The Carolina Reapers did just enough to sneak past the Phoenix Gladiators, 4-3, at Reedy River Stadium. Carolina pitcher B.J. Rudolph, in particular, had a standout performance. John Salgado got credit for the save for Carolina. It was his 6th of the year. The loss makes Phoenix 15-17.

The Reapers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jose Lazaro. For the game, Lazaro was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Carolina a 4-2 lead.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Phoenix manager Brett Bartlett said, following the tough loss.
