Sea Turtles Rally Late to Nip Desperados
|
Daytona Beach registered a win at Leatherback Park by beating the Austin Desperados, 1-0. Pitcher Jon Haynes was one reason why the Sea Turtles triumphed. Daytona Beach reliever Steven Hyatt picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Chris Oren was tagged with the loss. Austin falls to 11-20.
The Sea Turtles got a clutch hit from designated hitter Jordan Thompson. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Sea Turtles.
Said Thompson: "It's just one win, but it feels like more when you outlast a tough opponent."
