Aleman Socks Nightmare in 10-9 Eagles Win
|
The Indianapolis Eagles outscored the New York Nightmare, 10-9. Among the hitting stars was right fielder Danny Aleman. Aleman, who finished 4th in the NC in OPS with .964 in 2019, was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Omar Navarrete in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Tony Rosario took the loss. The loss has the Nightmare at 13-18.
Had Ian McKibbins not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, McKibbins hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Eagles.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
