The Dallas Dragons faced a tough opponent in Charleston pitcher Omar Cons, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark by a final score of 5-2. Cons went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Dallas reliever Adam Holland snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Shane Kidd shouldered the loss. Charleston is now 17-13.

Cole Calkins provided some late-game heroics for Dallas. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 2-2 sinker from Mario Barillas and propelled Dallas to a 3-2 lead.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Calkins told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
