Carolina Dealt 4-2 Defeat
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Carolina Reapers and San Francisco Fire get after it.
The San Francisco Fire rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher James Dobyns to a win, beating the Carolina Reapers, 4-2, at San Francisco Grounds. Scott Hargraves closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
The Fire got a big at-bat from second baseman Dusty Ward. For the game, Ward went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave San Francisco a 3-1 lead.
Ward called the win "a collective effort."
After losing, Carolina is 1-2.
