Stars Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Chris Benson gave the Hollywood Stars a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Mexico City Roadrunners, 2-1, at Hollywood Grounds. The win went to Rob Morgan in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nate McClaskey took the loss. Jim Schisler closed the game out for Hollywood, earning his 1st save.
Hollywood took a 2-1 lead on Carlos Miranda's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Miranda hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Mexico City pitcher Nate McClaskey visibly frustrated.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Benson.
The Stars, now 2-1, have been playing some good baseball.
