New York Loses, 6-3, in 14
|
Jesse Walker was instrumental in his team's 6-3, extra-inning triumph over the New York Nightmare. The center fielder went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Indianapolis Eagles. Indianapolis has a mark of 18-12 after the win.
Walker had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a 1-2 fastball from Andy Shoemaker, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Eagles a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Walker.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Walker told the Indianapolis Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
