Late Rally by Eagles Secures 5-3 Win
|
The Indianapolis Eagles racked up a win at Nightmare Stadium, bumping off the New York Nightmare, 5-3. Shawn Trautman, who started for Indianapolis, pitched effectively for his team. The loss drops New York to 13-17.
Indianapolis used a timely hit from 30-year old first baseman Gene Wenzel to get the win. The pinch hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eagles on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was huge.
"We were the better team," crowed Trautman.
