Miami second baseman Javier Tarango had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Hialeah at Firecats Ballpark. Tarango hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win went to Humberto Lopez in relief, making him now 2-3. John Keefe took the loss for Miami. Hialeah has a record of 17-30, placing them 4th in the Western AA Coastal Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tony Sylvester in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher John Keefe to win the game for Hialeah. The home crowd went nuts.
