The Vail Tigercats besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Miami left fielder Gabe Garnica by beating the Boll Weevils, 5-4, at Ballpark of Miami. Garnica was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. The third-place Tigercats improved to 25-20.

In the top of the fourth, Vail third baseman Nick Keller had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Miami hurler Joe Underwood, Keller drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 5-1, Vail. For the day, Keller drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
