Augusta had no answer for 23-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Mudge. The Miami Boll Weevils starter stymied Capitols hitters, helping the Boll Weevils cruise to victory, 6-1. Miami's record now stands at 19-27, placing them 5th in the Western AA Coastal Division.

Gerardo Flores, who is tied for 7th in the W-AA in RBI with 35, chipped in a 3-run home run for Miami in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
