Tigers Claw Out 2-1 Win
|
The London Tigers earned a close win over the Cornwall Royals, thanks in part to George Robertson. The London left-hander, who is tied for 6th in the W-AA in innings pitched with 57.2, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Bobby Pfau wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save. By defeating Cornwall, the 5th-place Tigers improved to 24-22.
Justin Wardlaw drove in one run against the Royals. With the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put London in front, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" London manager Fred Castricone said.
