Cornwall got a terrific game from first baseman Ross Myer. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vermont, 5-4. Myer went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. The winner was Vermont reliever Dan Martin, now 2-3. The loser was Kelly Powell. The win gives the Milkmen a record of 14-28.

Vermont got a critical at-bat from Joe Pettit. The third baseman stroked a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.

"The vibe's good," said Vermont manager Steve Reid. "We've got to keep it going."
