Bombardiers Earn Clutch Win, 7-6
|
The Cincinnati Bombardiers downed the Hialeah Firecats, 7-6, at Ballpark of Cincinnati. Phil Williams led the way, going 2-for-4 for Cincinnati. Reliever Steve Dunn picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Armando Salas, who is rated as the 78th best prospect by BNN, took the loss. Cincinnati is now 26-18, Hialeah 13-31.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Cincinnati right fielder Fernando Angulo, facing Armando Salas, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bombardiers the 7-6 win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Carlos Almendarez, the Cincinnati skipper.
