Miami Triumphs with Late Surge
|
Justin Bobb did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cincinnati Bombardiers from being beaten, 7-5, to the Miami Boll Weevils at Ballpark of Miami. Bobb went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Brent Kuest earned the save for Miami. Cincinnati now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jeremy Beck came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Heath Johnston, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 7-5.
"We ground out the win," said Beck. "That's all that matters."
