Bulldogs Defeat Scorpions, 7-6
|
Fans who congregated at Ballpark of North Richland Hills were treated to extra-inning drama.
Nate Galloway did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the Sonoma Scorpions an extra-inning, 7-6 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Galloway slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Justin Weil earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-3.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Dave Davidson came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing Sonoma pitcher Tom Haning, he hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hamilton on top, 7-6.
"We didn't let this one get away," said Davidson.
The defeat makes Sonoma 26-18.
