The Vail Tigercats rode a solid performance from 36-year-old starting pitcher Jesus Howell to a win, beating the Hamilton Bulldogs, 3-0, at Mariachis Ballpark. The Tigercats are now 25-17, while the Bulldogs fall to 21-21.

Howell earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Vail. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Hamilton hitters had little success against him.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Vail manager Mike Alexander. "That's what Jesus is right now."
