The Miami Boll Weevils beat the Sonoma Scorpions, 6-0. Miami pitcher and Decatur, Illinois, native Brent Kuest led the way. At 12-31, the Boll Weevils find themselves in last place in the Western AA Coastal Division.

In the bottom of the first inning, left fielder Kyle McKinney had a 3-run home run for Miami. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Boll Weevils on top, 3-0.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" McKinney told the Miami Bulletin. "You win just by scoring more runs."
