Streaking Milkmen Win Another One, 7-2
|
The Vermont Milkmen picked up a win at Emeralds Ballpark, knocking off the Miami Boll Weevils, 7-2. Starting pitcher Tony Morales played a key role in the triumph. Morales picked up the win for Vermont, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. The 4th-place Milkmen improved to 22-17.
In the bottom of the sixth, Jeff Rick delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Vermont third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Milkmen in front, 7-2.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Vermont manager Mike Barriga.
