Tigercats Capture Close Win
|
The Vail Tigercats topped the Cincinnati Bombardiers, 4-3, in 11 innings at Ballpark of Cincinnati. The game was highlighted by the performance of Vail pitcher Danny Gonzales. Vail reliever Tyler Doss picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Jose Perez absorbed the loss. By defeating Cincinnati, the 5th-place Tigercats improved to 19-17.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 26-year old center fielder Sam Markowicz. Markowicz had a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Tigercats ahead, 4-3. For the game, Markowicz had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Vail manager Mike Alexander.
