Bulldogs Use Late Score to Top Scorpions, 4-3
|
Sonoma got a big-time effort from pitcher Adam Monteleone, but it wasn't enough to keep the Hamilton Bulldogs from winning the game, 4-3. Monteleone threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Jesus Garcia, 3-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Ryan Middaugh, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Hamilton used the timely hitting of Nick Schultz to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like our mindset right now," said Hamilton manager Emmanuel Montano.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Hamilton.
