Bulldogs Send Augusta Home with 3-2 Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Augusta Capitols, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Beck proved to be the difference. The Hamilton right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Bulldogs win. Beck got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. With this game in the books, Hamilton is 15-18, Augusta 23-10.
Joel Angulo had a big solo home run for the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hamilton leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Dave Figley, who is rated as the 79th best prospect by BNN, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bulldogs ahead, 3-1.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Beck said.
