Royals Shut Out Milkmen, 7-0
|
Good production from catcher Tim Myers helped the Cornwall Royals topple the Vermont Milkmen, 7-0. Myers was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Royals. Cornwall reliever Lee Fidler snagged the win, upping his record to 4-1. Nate Benson shouldered the loss. The loss makes Vermont 13-20.
With Cornwall leading 4-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Myers batted against Vermont pitcher Mark Williams. Myers hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Royals on top, 7-0.
"No disrespect to the other team," said Cornwall manager Ivan Cabrera. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
